2017 Scion FR-S Turbo
You will see the smart combination of luxury and sporty design when the upcoming 2017 Scion FR-S is launched on the market. Basically, the car is the same as Toyota GT 86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ. The difference is they use different nameplates and markets. All of those cars are designed as two-door coupes but it seems that American market could get another variant. This car is designed for North America and this sedan will be the first in its lineup to beat the convertible at the second place.
2017 Scion FR-S Engine Range
We assume that this car might go with the base engine that is given by Subaru. It means that you can find out the boxer four-cylinder and 2.0 liter that is supposed to go with hybrid power train. This information is quite interesting for those who would like to purchase the car but has no preparation at all to face the low torque output which is around 151 lb-ft of torque although it has 200 ponies as the new 2017 FR-S.
The hybrid engine will be supported with extra electric motor to supply more output so that it is expected to produce for more than 250 horsepower and the similar torque. It is possible if the company would not change its drive configuration. In a short saying, 2017 Scion FR-S is still coming with the rear-wheel drive setup with the sporty design.
Design – Inside and Outside Look
It is informed that the car will not be too different from the coupe. 2017 Scion FR-S has sleek body to offer with the sporty nuance because some different details added around the back part of the car. Buyers could find out the four inches of longer wheelbase that will not even change the midsection. It also has lower air intake in open-mouth design while the nose is toned down with the presence of the unchanged sharp fog lights also headlights. The flared fender has slight revision with the set of doors that prolong the arching roofline. Its back should be longer with the same finish as the predecessor.
2017 Scion FR-S has minor refreshments around the cabin too. The second row has more spacious cabin but all cabin configuration and materials are still the same as the predecessor. This sedan should be designed with lot of features including touch screen display, heated front seats, eight-speaker, paddle shifter, air conditioner. Rearview camera and lane departure warnings will be the additional features to offer.
2017 Scion FR-S Price and MPG
Its engine specification will be based on the transmission option. The fuel consumption is between 25 and 28 mpg combined with the support of four-cylinder for the base. On the contrary, hybrid has more than 15 percent better fuel consumption. The starting price is about $25,000 for sedan while the hybrid sedans has $35,000 or even $40,000 for 2017 Scion FR-S.
